Findings from an IHDPS qualitative study on Medicaid Managed Care for people with disabilities in Kansas will be presented at the AcademyHealth Annual Research Meeting (ARM) in San Diego on June 8th. IDHPS staff will present their findings from a short survey conducted in Spring/Summer of 2013 after implementation of managed care in Kansas Medicaid. The findings from this small, one-state study will be shared with the goal of informing other state Medicaid programs and other stakeholders and policy makers about the potential barriers that could be encountered when using a managed care model for people with disabilities who need consistent access to the long-term services and supports in addition to traditional medical services.

The presentation is available for download at the ARM website. For more information, contact Dr. Jean Hall at jhall@ku.edu.
